Self-care is an essential part of a good life for all of us. However, as individuals, we need different things to keep us going. In this installment, I’m going to kick things off by focusing on Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.

my message to Aries: You may be accused of being more roughshod than everyone else but don’t be concerned about their issues. You’re driven, you get straight to the point, you’re courageous, you know your own mind and the rest can be damned if they can’t get with it. Feed that fire within you and don’t let anyone or anything quell it. When it comes to you, the question everyone else needs to ask themselves is: do they really take up too much space or am I taking up too little? Also, don’t let anyone tell you or make you feel like it’s not okay to be angry. Anger is necessary for our survival—it provides us with the drive and ability to defend ourselves. Your anger is mostly positive; it’s better to be direct and not repress yourself than to be passive and have self-esteem issues. Just mind how you express your anger. - take care of your skin - get facials, face massages, or otherwise take care of your face with the many wonderful skin tutorials on tumblr or elsewhere that suit your skin type and have your bare skin as healthy and flawless as you can get it
- if you like putting makeup on, do the kind of makeup that makes you look and feel good and keep those eyebrows on point
- use a dry shampoo to keep second day hair looking and smelling fresh
- put some leave-ins in your hair - wash your hair, apply leave-in conditioner, rough-dry your roots with your fingers
- try not to eat too much red meat
- you can get burned out, so you require adequate rest and good nutrition to replenish all the energy you burn
- consume the herbs mustard, eyebright and bay - either in food, in teas, or tisanes
- take cool showers and relax in a cooling atmosphere
- learn to appreciate and enjoy stillness every once in a while
- take care of your body and when you get angry channel your anger with movement and activity - exercise, walking, sports, etc
- the head encases your rather formidable brain. feed it with powerful and motivational quotes and knowledge. you’re already a motivational force, so find words that support this
- study whatever you need to to get that good grade or pass that exam
